Apesar de existirem provas irrefutáveis da filiação de altos funcionários do governo, João Lourenço opta por caminhar em silêncio diante do aumento crescente de consumo e tráfico de drogas a nível nacional —para não beliscar a imagem distorcida (por si projecta nacional e internacionalmente) sobre a luta contra a corrupção,atração de investimentos estrangeiro,etc.
